Gene Stewart and James Burton (Elvis Presley's band leader and lead guitarist until his death) Gene had met James Burton when James was about 14 years of age in Delhi, LA when they both played on the same country show (Delhi Grand Old Auction Barn). They were re-acquainted recently in Ferriday, LA when James Burton was inducted into the Louisiana Delta Music Museum Hall of Fame. James recorded with over 1000 artists including Herb Albert, Hoyt Axton, Johnny Cash, Nat King Cole, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Lee Lewis, George Jones, Townes Van Zandt, Henry Mancini, Hank Jr, John Denver, Ricky Nelson and hundreds more!! James Burton is from Shreveport, LA.
Gene Stewart and Donna Douglas from Baton Rouge, LA better known as "Ellie Mae Clampitt" of the Beverly Hillbillies TV Show. Donna was one of the celebrities attending the LA Delta Music Museum Hall of Fame recently in Ferriday, LA. She was there for the induction of James Burton and the gospel group "The Hemphills" into the Hall of Fame.
